Event: The East Monitor Barn-Raiser

Raise a Glass… and a Barn.

We can’t wait to share a special evening with you on VYCC’s campus. Come see what’s ahead for the historic East Monitor Barn as VYCC expands from one barn to two. The restored barn will serve as year-round space for workforce training, food production, and community gathering.

The evening will feature:

  • Delicious dinner prepared with fresh ingredients from our farm by VYCC alum and current Executive Chef at Lareau Farm in Waitsfield, Andrew Whitehead
  • Local beverages and signature cocktails (cash bar)
  • Silent and live auction
  • Live music from The Tenderbellies
  • Campus tours and a look at the East Monitor Barn as it gets ready for transformation
  • Remarks from VYCC’s past and present executive directors and Corps Members

About the East Monitor Barn

The East Monitor Barn is at the center of VYCC’s Stronger Through Service campaign, a series of generational investments in our campus and programs that will serve young people and Vermont for decades to come. Once complete, the barn will provide 20,000 square feet of year-round program space for conservation training, agricultural education, food production, and workforce development on VYCC’s 400-acre campus in Richmond, Vermont.

Since 1985, more than 7,000 young people have worked and learned on VYCC crews. Completing the East Monitor Barn means expanding that capacity – more crews trained, more food distributed, and more young people connected to meaningful work in Vermont.

Main Event Tickets: Tickets for The East Monitor Barn-Raiser are $100 per guest.

VIP Tickets: A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $250 each. In addition to the main event, VIP ticket holders will enjoy a pre-event exclusive tour of the barn and its restoration process, featuring lead restorer, Eliot Lothrop, of Building Heritage. The VIP pre-event begins at 5:00 PM and includes a special cocktail and light hors d’oeuvres before the main event begins.
