Washington County Regional Spike Crew Meet Up

When: Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Where: Barre City’s Cow Pasture (trail head at the end of Maplewood Ave.), Barre City, VT

VYCC is proud to invite the local community to join our Washington County Regional Spike Crew at our project site at the Barre City Cow Pasture. Crew Members and Leaders will share what they have learned and show you what they have accomplished so far this summer. Come spend an hour with local young people and celebrate their great work for the City of Barre.

Dorset Regional Spike Crew Meet Up

When: Monday, July 8, 2019 from 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Where: The main trail head of Owls Head Town Forest, Dorset, VT

VYCC is proud to invite the local community to join our Dorset Regional Spike Crew at the main trail head of Owls Head Town Forest. Crew Members and Leaders will share what they have learned and show you what they have accomplished so far this summer. Come spend an hour with local young people and celebrate their great work for the Dorset community.

Burlington Community Crew Meet Up

When: Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 12:00-1:00 p.m.

Where: Schmanska Park, 63 Grove St, Burlington, VT

VYCC and Burlington Park’s Recreation and Waterfront are proud to invite the local community to join our Burlington Community Crew at Schmanska Park  in the east end of Burlington (off Grove Street). This crew is made up of all local Burlington! Hear them and their Crew Leaders share what they have learned and show you what they have accomplished so far this summer. Come spend an hour with local young people and celebrate their great work for the Burlington community.

Williston Community Crew Meet Up

When: Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 12:00-1:00 p.m.

Where: Williston Park, 25 Library Lane, Williston, VT

VYCC is proud to invite the local community to join our Williston Community Crew at the Williston Community Park in Williston. Come hear Crew Members and Leaders share what they have learned and show you what they have accomplished with a stroll along the new Allen Brook Trail. Come spend an hour with local young people and celebrate their great work for the Williston community.

VYCC Richmond Community Farm Dinner

When: Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Where: VYCC, 1949 East Main St, Richmond, VT.

Please join us for a delicious meal prepared by VYCC’s Richmond Community Crews at VYCC’s West Monitor Barn on the outskirts of Richmond. Tour the Farm at VYCC, celebrate the incredible work by these youth on the Farm at VYCC, and hear their insights of their experiences on a VYCC Crew.

Space is very limited for seats and meals, so RSVPs are required.

VYCC Women of Wilderness (WOW) Crew Meet-UP

When: Friday, July 12, 2019 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Where: Waste Water Treatment Facility (WWTF) area in Pownal.

Please join the VYCC WOW Spike Crew and our project partners of Pownal for a bring your own brown bag lunch. The WOW Crew will show you their trail work by the hydroelectric plant and then along the berm in the Waste Water Treatment Facility (WWTF) area. Note: If you need a chair, please bring one.

Directions & Parking:

Park at the Town Garage in North Pownal.  Turn west off Rt. 346 onto Dean Road by the old general store at the southern end of North Pownal, and you’ll immediately see the Town Garage on your right.  Please don’t block any doors.  Walk down the road toward the WWTF until you see them.

Space is very limited for seats and meals, so RSVPs are required.

VYCC Newport Community Farm Dinner

When: Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Where: Bluffside Farm, Scott Farm Road, Newport, VT

Please join us for a delicious meal prepared by VYCC’s Newport Community Crew at Bluffside Farm in Newport. Come celebrate the incredible work by these youth on the Bluffside Farm and hear their insights of their experience on a VYCC Crew.

South Burlington Community Crew Meet Up

When: Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Where: Veteran’s Memorial Park, South Burlington, VT

It is going to be a great community night in South Burlington! Start your evening with meet-up with the South Burlington Community Crew on the edge of Wheeler Park. Hear Crew Members and Leaders share what they have learned and show you what they have accomplished with a stroll on the new trails they have built. It is a great way to spend an hour with local young people and celebrate their great work for the South Burlington community. Then, stick around for the SoBu Nite Out in Veterans Memorial Park for food and music!

Farm to Table Dinner at VYCC, hosted by Central Vermont Medical Center

When: Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 5:30-9:30 p.m.

Where: VYCC, 1949 East Main St, Richmond, VT. Note:

Join us for a midsummer celebration of locally-grown food, prepared by Chef Mike Kennedy and a sharing of stories of youth empowerment and community resilience! This ticketed event, $50 for dinner, that will support the Health Care Share Project of VYCC.

Our evening will begin with a farm tour, followed by a cocktail hour and a delicious, handcrafted dinner featuring fresh ingredients straight from The Farm at VYCC.

  • 5:30 to 6:00 – Farm Tour
  • 6:00 to 7:00 – Cocktail Hour
  • 7:00 to 8:30 – Dinner
  • 8:30 to 9:30 – Live Entertainment

Mike is the operations supervisor of Nutrition & Food Services at CVMC’s Woodridge Rehabilitation and Nursing, and a graduate of the College of Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales University. Mike’s cooking highlights local, fresh ingredients in simple, elegant preparations.
