West Monitor Barn

Home of the VYCC

In September 2005 the VYCC moved into its new headquarters in Richmond, Vermont. After many years of planning, deconstruction, and reconstruction, the The West Monitor Barn became the VYCC's new home.

The move to the Youth Leadership, Education and Training Center at the West Monitor Barn has created exciting new programs, including a year-round Youth in Agriculture and Natural Resources Program that will enroll students from Lamoille Union High School and Mount Mansfield Union High School, a Technical Work Skills Program, a Blind and Visually Impaired program, and National Disaster Relief Crews, who will work year-round to assist with disaster relief efforts nationwide.

Renting the Barn

Nestled within the Green Mountains, the West Monitor Barn forms the centerpiece for the quintessential Vermont wedding reception, civil union, or rehearsal dinner, meeting & conference, reception & party, or anniversary celebration.

Originally built in 1903, the barn was carefully reconstructed using 40% of its original timbers. The magnificent post and beam interior lends itself to your imagination; play off of the barns unique and simple charm, or create a rustically elegant reception by adding your own personal touch.
