Headquarters Staff Positions

Development VISTA

The Development VISTA is a full time, 12 month AmeriCorps position focused on building capacity of VYCC to support the continuation and expansion of programs.  The Development VISTA is a member of the development team, which is responsible for raising funds that enable the organization to grow, succeed, and fulfill its mission.

VYCC’s multi-faceted fundraising includes long-term relationship development with donors, private foundation and government grants, corporate solicitations and grants, and events. Fundraising campaigns include the annual fund, sustained giving, planned giving, major gifts, and capital campaigns.

This position has three primary areas of responsibility. First, the A*VISTA Member will support expansion of VYCC’s food security project - the Health Care Share. We are delivering HCS in four regions, with plans to partner with all Vermont medical centers by 2019. The Member will work with medical center partners to convene food teams in each community. This will ensure the sustainability of HCS by helping partnering medical centers secure requisite funds.

Second, the Member will support VYCC’s new effort to measure the short and long term impact of programs by coordinating collection of data from Corps Members and alumni. S/he will assist with data analysis, reporting of outcomes and use of data to make program improvements. This project will enable us to report quantifiable data for the first time in our 31 year history.

Last, the Member will support VYCC’s broader fundraising and alumni engagement efforts.

This position reports to the Development Director. The right candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, have a keen desire to learn, and work well independently as well as within a close team.  Attention to detail and a high degree of personal organization are critical.

The VYCC team works in the beautifully restored West Monitor Barn in Richmond, Vermont.  VYCC staff is a group of highly motivated and extremely dedicated people who each bring different strengths and experiences to the VYCC operations.  Team members need to balance personal initiative and independence with an ability to effectively utilize the team process to get results.

Compensation: This is an AmeriCorps VISTA position that receives a monthly stipend and education award.  In addition, VYCC offers monthly housing stipend and ongoing professional development opportunities.
