Park Educator AmeriCorps National Direct Positions – Nine Months

Park educators serve from March through November in a residential setting. These positions are designed to bring valuable conservation education and emergency preparedness to the VYCC’s Park Crews, School Crews, and visitors to parks.

Park Corps Member Positions - Five or Six Months

The Park Program gives Corps Members opportunities to develop environmental awareness throughout the summer while operating a Vermont State Park as well as working on a variety of conservation, disaster mitigation/recovery, and public service projects across the state of Vermont

Education Award Program (EAP) Summer Crew Leaders (Wilderness, Roving, Community) – Three months

EAP positions give VYCC’s summer Crew Leaders the opportunity to earn an education award for the valuable time they work in service to our natural world and Vermont’s youth. Summer Crew Leaders work in both residential and non-residential positions leading crews of high school age students on conservation projects around the state of Vermont.

Headquarters AmeriCorps VISTA position – One Year

Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) positions are a crucial component of the VYCC’s ongoing development. AmeriCorps VISTA members work at the VYCC’s Headquarters in Richmond, Vermont to build organizational capacity and support the growth of the VYCC’s programs. Past VISTA’s roles have been: Land and Facility, Nursery and Agriculture, Technical Skills, and Operations.
